About the Mid-Cities Music Teachers Association
The Mid-Cities Music Teachers Association was chartered in 1985 for the specific purposes of:
-
Furthering the musical knowledge and skill of students,
-
Promoting high standards in music education and music performance,
-
Stimulating continuing self-improvement and education of the membership, and
-
Encouraging the support of all worthwhile musical activities that contribute to the cultural growth of our community and nation.
Membership has increased as the Northeast Tarrant County, Texas, area has experienced explosive growth in population and business opportunity. Today, our roster includes many teachers offering instruction in piano, organ, oboe, voice, flute, guitar, violin, saxophone, jazz, theory, composition, and improvisation.
Member teachers are highly qualified professionals dedicated to excellence in the performing arts. Students of member teachers regularly benefit from their teachers' participation in the programs and activities sponsored by our association.
Active membership is open to qualified music teachers who are graduates of accredited colleges or universities. Provisional membership, which outlines a plan for attaining Active membership, is available to non-degreed teachers.
